ALL-WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL FOR IVECO DAILY
Transmission control at the touch of a button
The new IVECO DAILY model was named Van of the Year 2015. The all-wheel-drive version of the transport also features technology from Großpostwitz. Because Achleitner – an Austrian company that converts vans with standard rear-wheel drive into powerful all-wheel drive vans – relies on CAN keypads from miunske. 4-unit and 6-unit modules are used to realise the all-wheel drive control. The control panels, designed with their own symbols, blend harmoniously into the interior of the complete model range from 3.5 to 7-tonne trucks. Instead of using cables as before, the transfer gear and differential locks can now be controlled at the touch of a button. If desired, depending on the model, the front axle differential can also be locked 100 %. Together with miunske, Achleitner developed the necessary components to also be able to incorporate further safety levels – such as the automatic ejection of locks at a certain speed. The fact that both partners needed less than a year to do this is also thanks to miunske’s know-how. While many arrangements could be made easily by e-mail and telephone, every now and then an employee from Großpostwitz made his way to Austria. Because customer proximity is not only important to miunske on paper, but it is a lived company philosophy.
