pilot control panel with OLED display
More information and an increased overview in the cockpit
GSF Sonderfahrzeugbau GmbH, founded in 1995, specializes in equipping emergency vehicles. The portfolio includes the development and implementation of individual technical equipment concepts for ambulance, fire brigade, police and special vehicles.
Driven by innovation, the GSF development team is constantly looking for new solutions. In this specific case, the operation of ambulances in hectic everyday work should be made easier and safer with a new operating unit with an integrated display.
solution and added values for the customer:
As part of a customer visit by the miunske field service and development manager at GSF Sonderfahrzeugbau GmbH, an exchange took place on the above-mentioned needs of GSF and the current development status of a new control panel series from miunske. As a result, GSF became a cooperation partner in the “Pilot Control Panel” development project and thus received a customer-specific version (C-sample) of the new control panel series individually and promptly.
This convinced with its equipment with a display, whereby safety instructions such as “Door side entry open” or “Vehicle battery undervoltage” can now be issued as a text message much more concretely and clearly. The warning and safety instructions are shown in high contrast on the integrated OLED display – without dazzling. In this way, they can still be seen very well even in strong sunlight. The brightness of the multicolor LEDs on the control panels is set using a CAN message and thus automatically adjusts to the ambient brightness and thus optimally illuminates the pictograms.
Another advantage is the robust and space-saving design in DIN slot format. As a result, the pilot control panel can be quickly and easily integrated into the vehicle. However, since the DIN slot in the ambulance was already occupied, the control unit with its high-quality aluminum frame was quickly integrated into the area of the center console. With its high degree of protection IP65, the control panel offers complete protection against dust and water jets. The operating unit could even be used for outdoor applications.
Despite its extremely compact design, the new Pilot control panel offers space for a display and up to 10 small buttons. The signaling system is particularly important for ambulances. Therefore this command should be placed on an extra large button. This customer request could be implemented without any problems[nbsp], since miunske offers the pilot control panel in various standard versions. There are different combinations of small buttons, large buttons and with an integrated display – optionally as a monochrome OLED or graphics-capable TFT color display.
The customer had maximum flexibility in the allocation of the individual fields. Because each control panel of the Pilot control unit can be parameterized as a switching or display element with the corresponding send and receive functions of the CAN communication. This means that the function, color and brightness can be created individually for each control panel. The design of the symbols and the entire foil design were carried out exactly according to the customer’s wishes. miunske solution GmbH also took on the programming and parameterization – so that over 200 operating units could already be delivered to GSF Sonderfahrzeugbau GmbH as a convenient “plug & play” solution.
