Multi-Sound-Modul
Initial situation and task:
Schutz & Rettung Zürich is the largest civil rescue organisation in Switzerland – and unites under its roof the fire brigade, ambulance service, civil defence, operations control centre and fire police of the city of Zurich. The organisation has been working well with miunske GmbH for many years and uses a variety of their products in their vehicles: CAN keypads, controllers, special signalling systems and lighting. In order to improve occupational safety, a solution was searched for to make warning notices in ambulances even clearer. Because with a purely visual warning, there is a risk that it will be overseen during use.
Solutions and added value for the customer:
In the cooperation with miunske, the multi-sound module came to their attention. It can reproduce acoustic signals and even voice messages in the vehicle cabin very clearly and distinctly, so that they are still clearly recognizable even in heavy noise and poor visibility.
This is how the idea was born to supplement the visual warnings in the ambulances of the city of Zurich with acoustic warnings – and to make them more concrete. The voice announcements with the help of the multi-sound module provide precise information about where the danger is – and what to do. An example of such a voice announcement: “Warning, tailgate is not closed. Please close the door!” The multi-sound module with CAN interface enables the parameterization of up to 50 different signals/voice messages and continuous volume control.
Another decisive argument for miunske’s multi-sound module was its ease of integration. Due to the high flexibility in the design of the CAN interface, the device could be easily integrated into the CAN network of the emergency vehicles.
The two retaining straps on the left and right allow flexible attachment to the desired position between the two seats on the rear wall of the driver’s cab. And with the help of the integrated Molex MX 150 connector system, the cabling was also very easy.
